The Curriculum

Practical courses covering the skills every family needs, from first aid and car care to taxes, budgeting, and leadership. EFA and ESA eligible, self-paced, with a certificate of completion.

Curator-Vetted Curriculum

Every instructor is personally reviewed by Daniel Shaw, a credentialed first responder who only approves experts he'd trust with his own family.

EFA-Eligible Courses

Use your Education Freedom Account funds for our courses. Compass Life Skills is designed to qualify, making real-world education accessible to every homeschool family.

Built for Homeschool Families

No textbooks required. Our courses meet your family where you are: flexible, self-paced, and built around the real-world skills that actually matter.
Finally a curriculum that teaches the things I was nervous I would forget to cover. My son loves that it feels real.

Homeschool Mom (placeholder review)

Daniel is the real deal. My kids actually listen to him, and the emergency course gave us all peace of mind.

Co-op Parent (placeholder review)

You have math and reading covered. This is the part that gets skipped.

When Seconds Matter

Bleeding control, CPR basics, and staying calm in an emergency. The skills that turn a bystander into the person who helps.

When Life Gets Real

Money and budgeting, communication, leadership, and the everyday know-how that school never put on the schedule.

Taught by People You Trust

Every instructor is vetted by a former Marine, firefighter, and Advanced EMT before they ever teach your child a thing.

Ready to Equip Your Family?

Are your courses really EFA-eligible?

Yes. Compass Life Skills courses are designed to qualify for Education Freedom Account (EFA) and Education Savings Account (ESA) funding in participating states, paid through ClassWallet. Many families pay nothing out of pocket. We recommend verifying eligibility with your state's program administrator.

Who is Daniel Shaw?

Daniel Shaw is a former U.S. Marine, career firefighter, Advanced EMT, and co-founder of Compass Life Skills. He hosts the platform and personally reviews and approves every instructor, because he believes your family deserves experts he'd trust with his own kids.

Do I need any prior experience?

No. Lessons are self-paced video built for teen learners, roughly ages 13 to 18. Your student works through them independently, you do not have to teach a thing, and you get progress tracking along the way.
